﴿فَقُلْنَا اذْهَبَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا﴾ — He says: We said to the two of them: Go to Pharaoh and his people, who have denied Our messages and Our proofs; and We destroyed them with utter destruction. In the sentence there is an omitted portion that is supplied on the basis of the context, namely: "So they went there; but they (that is, the people) denied the two of them; whereupon We destroyed them at that time."
