Say, [O Muhammad], "To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?"

Allah — exalted is His mention — says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: Say, O Muḥammad, to those among your people who deny the Hereafter: To whom belongs the possession of the earth and all the creatures upon it, if you know who its owner is? Then He informs him that they will acknowledge that it belongs to Allah as His property.
