Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.

Allah — exalted is His mention — says: These polytheists (mushrikīn) have drawn no lesson from the signs of Allah, nor have they reflected upon the proofs and indications that Allah has set before them as evidence of His power to do whatever He wills. Instead, they said the same as what their predecessors — the nations who had denied their messengers before them — had said.
