Tafseer of The Prophets · Al-Anbiyaa · 21:94
So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders.

Allah, exalted be His praise, says: Whoever among those who divided themselves in their religion did that which Allah commanded him of good works, and obeyed Him in His commands and prohibitions, while affirming the oneness of Allah, believing in His promise and His threat, and dissociating himself from peers and gods — (فَلا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ) — that is to say: Allah will not reject with ingratitude his effort which he performed for Him in obedience to Him and as a believer in Him; He will reward him in the Hereafter with the reward He has promised the obedient, and will not take away from him that effort by denying it and withholding from him the reward for his good works — (وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ) — that is to say: We write down all his good works and omit nothing of them, so that We may reward him for the small and the great, the little and the much of it.
Abū Jaʿfar said: al-Kufrān is a maṣdar of the expression: "I rejected someone's favor (kafara fulan niʿmatahu), I reject it (akfuruhu) with kufran and kufrānan." As the poet said:
"Among the people are those whose cheeks never sleep, and my cheek — and not theirs is Allah's favor that sleeps."
(This verse serves as a witness that al-kufrān in Allah's words (فَلا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ) is a maṣdar of the expression: kafara fulanun niʿmatahu — he rejected someone's favor — as stated in al-Lisān.)
