Allah, exalted is His remembrance, says: We admitted Lūṭ into Our mercy, by saving him from the punishment and the calamity which We sent down upon his people, and by delivering him from it. إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ — He says: Lūṭ was among those who acted in obedience to Us, who held fast to Our command and Our prohibition, and who were not disobedient to Us.
And Ibn Zayd used to say, concerning the meaning of His words وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا, what Yūnus related to me, who said: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا: he said: into Islām.
