O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails,

    The exposition of the interpretation of the word of Allah the Exalted:

Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: When Mūsā had brought his people safely across the sea, and Pharaoh together with his people had been overwhelmed by the sea, We said to the people of Mūsā: We have already discussed how the promise of Allah to Mūsā and his people was at the right side of Mount al-Ṭūr, and we have expounded the mann and the salwā along with the differences of opinion of those who disagreed about this, and we have mentioned the proofs for the correct view on this earlier in what preceded — which makes it superfluous to repeat it again here.

The Qurʾān-reciters differed over the reading of His words قَدْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ . The vast majority of the Qurʾān-reciters of Medina and Basra read: قَدْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ — with nūn and alif, and the remaining letters in agreement therewith — while the vast majority of the Qurʾān-reciters of Kūfa read: قَدْ أَنْجَيْتُكُمْ — with tāʾ, and the remaining letters likewise so — up to His words وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى , where they followed the others and read it with nūn and alif.

The most correct view on this, in my opinion, is that they are two well-known readings that agree in meaning; whichever of the two a Qurʾān-reciter reads, he has done well.
