Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.

Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says to His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: Do not let grief overcome you on account of the denial by these polytheists (mushrikīn) of that truth which you have brought them, O Muhammad, for to Us they return and to Us is their final destination, just as is the final destination of all other created beings. We inherit the earth and whoever of mankind lives upon it, in that they pass away from it while it remains behind with none possessing it but Us. Then upon Us rests the requital of everyone who acts, according to his deed, when he returns to Us: the doer of good according to his good deed, and the doer of evil according to his evil deed.
