And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.

Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says to His Prophet: Mention, O Muhammad, in the Book of Allah Ibrāhīm, the intimate friend (khalīl) of the Most Merciful, and recount to these polytheists (mushrikīn) his story and the story of his father. إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا (Indeed, he was a man of truth): He says: he was among the people of truthfulness in his words, his reports, and his promises — he did not lie. Al-ṣiddīq is the faʿīl form derived from al-ṣidq (truthfulness).
We have already explained this in what preceded, in a manner that makes repeating it here unnecessary. نَبِيًّا (a prophet): He says: Allah had made him a prophet and sent down revelation to him.
