Allah the Exalted says: he was kind to his parents, hastened in obedience to them and in love for them, and was not disobedient to them. (وَلَمْ يَكُنْ جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا) — Allah the Exalted says: he was not arrogant in his obedience to his Lord and his parents; rather, he was toward Allah and his parents submissive and humble, following what he was commanded, and refraining from what he was forbidden — he was not disobedient to his Lord, nor to his parents.
His word (عَصِيًّا) is of the pattern faʿīl in the meaning of: he who possesses disobedience, from the saying of the speaker: "so-and-so was disobedient to his Lord, and is disobedient to Him" — ʿaṣā - yaʿṣī - ʿaṣiyyan.
