إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ سُلْطَٰنٌ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.

    As for His words إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ (Truly, he has no power over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord): by this He means: Satan has no proof (ḥujja) against those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, who act according to what Allah has commanded and refrain from what Allah has forbidden them. وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ: that is to say: they place their trust in their Lord in all the weighty matters that befall them.

    وأما قوله ( إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ) فإنه يعني بذلك: أن الشيطان ليست له حجة على الذين آمنوا بالله ورسوله ، وعملوا بما أمر الله به وانتهوا عما نهاهم الله عنه ( وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ) يقول: وعلى ربهم يتوكلون فيما نابهم من مهمات أمورهم.
