Tafseer of The Bee · An-Nahl · 16:93
And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.

Allah, exalted is His mention, says: And had your Lord willed, O people, He would have favored you with His grace through His tawfīq (support), so that you would all have become one community and people of one religion — you would neither diverge nor split apart. But Allah, exalted is His mention, caused them to diverge and made them people of differing religions — by granting some the tawfīq for obedience to Him and leaving others to themselves, so that they choose unbelief (kufr).
وَلَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do): that is to say: you will be questioned by your Lord on the Day of Resurrection about the deeds you perform in the worldly life — the obedient one about his obedience and the disobedient one about his disobedience. Allah will reward or punish each of you according to his deeds.
