Allah, exalted is His mention, says: Your Lord makes grow for you — by means of the water which He has sent down for you from the sky — your crops, your olive trees, your date palms, and your grapevines. وَمِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ — that is to say: from all the fruits besides these: as provisions and nourishment for you, as foods and fruit — a favor from Him toward you therein, and a benefit, and a proof against whoever among you is disbelieving in Him. إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً — Allah, exalted is His praise, says: Truly, in Allah's bringing forth — by means of the water which He sends down from the sky — of what He has described to you لآيَةً — that is to say: a clear indication and a manifest sign لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ — that is to say: for a people who take Allah's admonition to heart, reflect upon His proofs, and thereby allow themselves to be reminded and turn in repentance.
