[O Muhammad], tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange, nor any friendships.

Allah the Exalted says: Allah is the One who created the heavens and the earth out of nothing, O people, and who sent down rain from the sky by which He brought trees and plants to life, so that they produced fruits for you which you eat. Wa-sakhkhara lakumu al-fulk — and these are the ships — li-tajriya fī al-baḥri bi-amrihi — for you, that you may ride upon them and transport your goods upon them from town to town. Wa-sakhkhara lakumu al-anhār — its water is drink for you. Allah the Exalted says: The One who has the right to your worship and complete obedience — due to Him alone — is the One whose attribute this is; not the one who is capable of nothing, neither harm nor benefit for himself or for others, namely your idols (awthān) and deities, O polytheists (mushrikīn).

Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us — and Al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: Al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us — and Al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad, that is to say Al-Zaʿfarānī, related to us, saying: Shabāba related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us — and Al-Muthannā related to me, saying: Isḥāq informed us, saying: ʿAbdullāh related to us — and Al-Muthannā related to me, saying: Abū Ḥudhayfa related to us, saying: Shibl — all on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning his word wa-sakhkhara lakumu al-anhār : he said: "In every town."
