We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah

The exposition of the explanation of the words of Allah the Exalted: إِنْ نَقُولُ إِلا اعْتَرَاكَ بَعْضُ آلِهَتِنَا بِسُوءٍ قَالَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ وَاشْهَدُوا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ (54)
Abū Jaʿfar says: This is a report from Allah the Exalted about what the people of Hūd said; they said to him, when he gave them sincere counsel and called them to the oneness of Allah and to believe in Him, and to reject the idols and dissociate from them: we will not abandon the worship of our gods; we only say that what has prompted you to criticize them and to forbid their worship is that some affliction of madness from them has befallen you. Hūd then said to them: I take Allah as witness over myself, and you too I take as witnesses, O people, that I dissociate myself from what you associate as partners besides Allah in the worship of Allah, in the form of your gods and idols.
