And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"

The exposition of the interpretation of the words of Allah the Exalted: وَنَادَى نُوحٌ رَبَّهُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنْتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ (45)
Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah the Exalted says: Nūḥ called upon his Lord and said: O Lord, You promised me to save me from the drowning and the destruction, and to let my household share in that; yet my son has perished, and my son belongs to my household. وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ — Your promise is the truth, in which there is no breach. وَأَنْتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ — You are the best of judges, who judges with justice; so render a judgment in my favor, that You may fulfill Your promise to me, by saving my household and returning my son to me — as has been related:
18207 — Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning His word وَأَنْتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ : "the best of judges in justice."
