Tafseer of Hud · Hud · 11:120
And each [story] We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers.

The explanation of the word of the Exalted: وَكُلاً نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ وَجَاءَكَ فِي هَذِهِ الْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (120) (And of all the tidings of the messengers We relate to you that whereby We make firm your heart; and in these there has come to you the Truth, and an admonition and a reminder for the believers.)
Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted — exalted be His remembrance — says: وَكُلاً نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ — "Of all We relate to you," O Muḥammad, مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الرُّسُلِ — "of the tidings of the messengers" who were before you, مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ — "that whereby We make firm your heart" — so that you do not collapse on account of the lying of those of your people who have denied you, and who rejected what you brought them; and let not your breast become straitened so that you leave behind a part of what I have sent down to you, on account of their saying: لَوْلا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌ — "Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him, or an angel come with him" — when you know what those before you among My messengers experienced from their peoples.
As [it is related]:
18741 — Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: Al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, concerning the word of Allah: وَكُلاً نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ — he said: "So that you may know what the messengers before you experienced from their peoples."

The Arabic grammarians differed concerning the reason for the accusative form of the word "kullan" ("of all").
Some of the Basran linguists said: it stands in the accusative according to the meaning of: "We relate to you of the tidings of the messengers that whereby We make firm your heart — of all" — as though "al" (the whole) stands with him in the accusative as a maṣdar (verbal noun) of "relating," with the interpretation: "We relate to you that whole — all the accounts."
* * *
Some grammarians rejected that view and said: that is not permissible. They said: "kullan" stands in the accusative through "naquṣṣu" (We relate), because "kull" (all, the whole) is built upon the construct relation (iḍāfa), whether there is an iḍāfa with it or not. And they said: the intended meaning is: "the whole [of the reports] We relate to you," and they made "mā nuthabbitu" a restatement of "kullan." And I have already set forth the correct view concerning that.

As for the word وَجَاءَكَ فِي هَذِهِ الْحَقُّ (and in these there has come to you the Truth): the exegetes differed concerning its interpretation.
Some of them said: the meaning is: "And in this sūra there has come to you the Truth."

Others said: the meaning of this is: "And in this life (the world) there has come to you the Truth."
*Mention of those who said this:*
18763 — Muḥammad ibn Bashshār and Muḥammad ibn al-Muthannā related to us, they said: Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar related to us, saying: Shuʿba related to us, on the authority of Qatāda — concerning وَجَاءَكَ فِي هَذِهِ الْحَقُّ — he said: "In this life."

Abū Jaʿfar said: The more correct of the two interpretations concerning its explanation is the interpretation of the one who said: "And in this sūra there has come to you the Truth" — because of the agreement of the authoritative exegetes that this is its interpretation.
* * *
If someone says: Did the Truth from the sūras of the Qurʾān come to the Prophet ﷺ only in this one sūra, such that it is said: "And in this sūra there has come to you the Truth"?
Then he is answered: No, it came to him in all of these sūras.
If he then says: What, then, is the basis for singling it out for mention in this sūra with the words وَجَاءَكَ فِي هَذِهِ الْحَقُّ ? Then it is said: The meaning of the statement is: "And in this sūra there has come to you the Truth, in addition to what has come to you in the rest of the sūras of the Qurʾān" — or: "in conjunction with the Truth that has come to you in the rest of the sūras of the Qurʾān" — not that the meaning is: "And in this sūra there has come to you the Truth, but not in the rest of the sūras of the Qurʾān."
* * *
And as for His word وَمَوْعِظَةٌ (and an admonition): He says: "And there has come to you an admonition whereby you admonish those who are ignorant concerning Allah, and set forth to them the signs of those who denied Him and denied His messengers." And وَذِكْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ — He says: "And a reminder whereby you remind those who believe in Allah and His messengers, so that they may not be heedless of what Allah has imposed upon them as an obligation."
