Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ (Did He not bring their scheme to naught?)
He says: Did He not bring the enterprise of the Ethiopians, the people of the elephant, to destroy the Kaʿba, فِي تَضْلِيلٍ — that is to say: into an astrayness, whereby they were diverted from what they intended and sought after, namely its destruction — to naught?
