The explanation of the meaning of the words of Allah the Exalted: فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوا إِنَّ هَذَا لَسِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ (10:76)
(And when the Truth came to them from Us, they said: "Verily, this is manifest sorcery.")
Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah the Exalted says: فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا — that is to say: when the proof of that to which Mūsā and Hārūn had called them was brought into their view, and the convincing proofs (ḥujaj) with which they had come — and that is the Truth which had come to them from the side of Allah — قَالُوا إِنَّ هَذَا لَسِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ , by which they meant that it was clear to everyone who saw it and beheld it with his own eyes that it was sorcery and possessed no reality.
