The explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: قُلْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ (69)
(Say: verily, those who invent lies about Allah will not succeed.)
Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says to His prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: "Say" — O Muḥammad — to them: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ — that is: those who assert about Him what is false and claim a child for Him (61) — لَا يُفْلِحُونَ . He says: they will not know any lasting happiness in the world (62).
