Tafseer of The Power, Fate · Al-Qadr · 97:2

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

    And His statement: وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ("And what makes you know what the Night of Decree is?"). He says: And what has made you aware, O Muḥammad, of what a thing the Night of Decree is, which is better than a thousand months?

    The scholars of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) differed concerning the meaning of this. Some said: the meaning of it is: performing in the Night of Decree that with which Allah is pleased is better than performing it during another period of a thousand months.
