And His word: ( Is Allah not the wisest of judges? ) — The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: Is Allah not, O Muḥammad, wiser than all who judge in their judgments and in rendering their adjudication between His servants? And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, when he recited this — according to what has been reported to us — "Indeed, yes."
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda ( Is Allah not the wisest of judges? ): it has been reported to us that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, when he recited this, used to say: "Indeed, yes, and I am among those who bear witness to that."
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Wakīʿ related to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abū Isḥāq, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, who said: Ibn ʿAbbās used to say, when he recited ( Is Allah not the wisest of judges? ): "Glory be to You, O Allah, indeed, yes."
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, who said: Qatāda used to say, when he recited ( Is Allah not the wisest of judges? ): "Indeed, yes, and I am among those who bear witness to that" — I think that he transmitted this as marfūʿ (attributed to the Prophet ﷺ). And when he recited: Is He then not able to bring the dead back to life? he said: "Indeed, yes." And when he recited: In what report after this will they then believe? he said: "I believe in Allah and in what has been sent down."
