The explanation of His statement, the Exalted: Have We not expanded your breast for you (1)

The Exalted, whose praise is sublime, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, reminding him of His favors toward him and His goodness to him, and thereby urging him to gratitude for what He has granted him, so that he might thereby merit yet more from Him: ( Have We not expanded for you ) — O Muḥammad, for guidance, for faith in Allah, and for knowledge of the truth — ( your breast ), so that We softened your heart for you and made it a vessel for wisdom.
