His statement: وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا ("and by the night when it covers it"). The Exalted, whose praise is proclaimed, says: and by the night when it covers the sun, until it sets and the horizons grow dark.

And Qatāda said concerning this what Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا ("and by the night when it covers it"): when the night covers it.
