وَلِسَانًۭا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

And a tongue and two lips?

    Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His words: أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ * وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ ("Have We not given him two eyes, and a tongue and two lips?") — favors of Allah following one after another; He reminds you of them so that you would thank Him.

    حدثنا بشر، قال: ثنا يزيد، قال: ثنا سعيد، عن قتادة، قوله: (أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ * وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ) نِعَم من الله متظاهرة، يقررك بها كيما تشكره.
