Explanation of the meaning of His word: خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ (22) (Abiding therein eternally, forever. Truly, with Allah there is a magnificent reward.) (22)
Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, whose praise is mentioned, says — (abiding therein eternally), that is to say: remaining in them, namely in the gardens [of Paradise] — (forever), with no end to it and no limit — (truly, with Allah there is a magnificent reward), He says: truly, with Allah there is for these believers, whom He — exalted be His praise — has described with the description mentioned in this verse, (a reward), namely recompense for their obedience to their Lord and for their performance of the works which He imposed upon them, (magnificent), and that is the felicity which He has promised to give them in the Hereafter.
