Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure.

The explanation of His word: يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَرِضْوَانٍ وَجَنَّاتٍ لَهُمْ فِيهَا نَعِيمٌ مُقِيمٌ (21) (Their Lord gives them glad tidings of mercy from Him, and good pleasure, and gardens wherein they shall have lasting bliss.)
Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, whose praise is proclaimed, says: Their Lord gives glad tidings to these who have believed, and have emigrated (performed the hijra), and have striven (performed jihād) in the way of Allah, bi-raḥmatin minhu (glad tidings of mercy from Him) for them, namely that He has had mercy upon them by not punishing them; and of good pleasure (riḍwān) from Him for them, namely that He has become pleased with them on account of their obedience to Him and their fulfilment of what He has imposed upon them. Wa-jannāt (and gardens), He says: and pleasure-gardens. Lahum fīhā naʿīmun muqīm (wherein they shall have lasting bliss) which does not disappear and does not perish, abiding and continuing forever for them.
16567 — Ibn Bashshār related to us, saying: Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī related to us, saying: Sufyān related to us, on the authority of Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, on the authority of Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who said: When the dwellers of Paradise (janna) enter Paradise, Allah, glory be to Him, says: I shall give you something better than this. Then they say: Our Lord, what matter is better than this? He says: My good pleasure (riḍwān).
