And what can make you know what is the night comer?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ("And what will make you know what the night-comer is?"). Allah, exalted is His mention, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: and what will make you realize, O Muḥammad, what the night-comer is by which I have sworn? Then He explained that, exalted is His praise, and said: it is the piercing star (al-najm al-thāqib) — that is to say: whose light blazes up and burns intensely.
And in line with what we have said about this, the exegetes have spoken.
