His word: بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ ("Nay, it is a glorious Qurʾān"). He says — in denial on His behalf, exalted is His praise, against those who claimed concerning the Qurʾān that it is poetry and rhymed prose (sajʿ) —: it is not so; nay, it is a noble Qurʾān (qurʾān karīm).
Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ ("Nay, it is a glorious Qurʾān"), he says: a noble Qurʾān (qurʾān karīm).
Abū Kurayb related to us, he said: Ibn Yamān related to us, on the authority of Ashʿath ibn Isḥāq, on the authority of Jaʿfar, on the authority of Saʿīd, concerning His word: بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ ("Nay, it is a glorious Qurʾān"), he said: noble (karīm).
