When the sky has split [open]

The statement concerning the explanation of His word, exalted is He: إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ (1) ("When the heaven is split asunder").
He, exalted is His mention, says: when the heaven tears and breaks apart, so that it becomes gates.
