Explanation of the saying of the Exalted: يَا أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ ("O mankind, what has deluded you concerning your Lord, the Most Generous?") (82:6).
The Exalted — may His mention be exalted — says: O disbelieving man, what thing has deluded you concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? Man was deluded concerning Him by his enemy who has gained power over him.
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ — what thing has deluded the son of Adam? This enemy, Satan.
