Tafseer of He frowned · Abasa · 80:42

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ

Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.

    And His saying: أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ ("They are the disbelievers, the wicked") — the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: these, whose characteristic is this on the Day of Resurrection, they are the disbelievers (al-kafara) toward Allah, who in the worldly life were the wicked (al-fajara) in their religion; they did not care what disobedience against Allah they committed and what things forbidden by Him they perpetrated. Thus does Allah requite them, for the evil of their deeds, with that which He has announced to His servants.

    وقوله: ( أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ ) يقول تعالى ذكره: هؤلاء الذين هذه صفتهم يوم القيامة هم الكفرة بالله، كانوا في الدنيا الفجرة في دينهم، لا يبالون ما أتوا به من معاصي الله، وركبوا من محارمه، فجزاهم الله بسوء أعمالهم ما أخبر به عباده. آخر تفسير سورة عبس.
