The explanation of His word: كَمَا أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَكَارِهُونَ (8:5) ("Just as your Lord brought you forth from your house with the truth, while a group of the believers were certainly averse to it") (8:5)
Abū Jaʿfar said: The exegetes differed concerning that which this "kāf" (the particle of comparison) in His word "just as He brought you forth" evokes, and what it is that is being compared with the fact that Allah brought His Prophet ﷺ forth from his house with the truth.
Some of them said: it is compared therewith in the good that it entails for the believers: their fear of their Lord (ittiqāʾ), the setting right of the mutual relations between them, and their obedience to Allah and His Messenger. And they said: the meaning of it is that Allah says: "And set right the mutual relations between you, for that is better for you, just as Allah brought Muḥammad ﷺ forth from his house with the truth, and that was better for him."
* Mention of who said that:
15700 — Muḥammad ibn al-Muthannā related to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Wahhāb related to us, he said: Dāwūd related to us, on the authority of ʿIkrima: فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ كَمَا أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ بِالْحَقِّ, the verse, that is to say: indeed, this is better for you, just as your going forth from your house with the truth was better for you.

Others said: the meaning of it is: just as your Lord brought you forth, O Muḥammad, from your house with the truth, despite the aversion of a group of the believers, so too do they oppose the armed fighting (qitāl), and therefore they dispute with you about it, after it has become clear to them.
