And His statement: أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا ("He brought forth from it its water") (79:31). He says: He caused the rivers to gush forth therein. وَمَرْعَاهَا ("and its pasture") — He says: He caused its vegetation to sprout forth.

* Mention of who said that:
It was related to me on the authority of al-Ḥusayn, who said: I heard Abū Muʿādh say: ʿUbayd informed us, saying: I heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk say concerning His statement: وَمَرْعَاهَا , that it is what Allah created therein of plants; and مَاءَهَا ("its water") is what He caused to gush forth therein of rivers.
