But all things We have enumerated in writing.

And His words: (And every thing We have recorded in a writing) — He, exalted be His remembrance, says: And every thing We have counted and written down in a writing; We have recorded its number, its extent, and its measure, so that the knowledge of nothing thereof escapes Us. And "kitāban" (a writing) stands in the accusative, because in His words "We have counted it (aḥṣaynāhu)" there is implied an infinitive which we have affirmed and written down, as though it were said: And every thing We have written down in a writing.
