Tafseer of The Announcement · An-Naba · 78:17
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -

His words: إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا ("Verily, the Day of Decision is an appointed time") (78:17). Allah, whose mention is exalted, says: verily, the Day on which Allah will make the decision between His creatures, on which He will exact retribution from one in favor of another, has become an appointed time for that which Allah has decreed for those who deny the Resurrection and for their like among the creatures.
And in accordance with what we have said about this, the exegetes also spoke.

Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His words: إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا ("Verily, the Day of Decision is an appointed time"): that is a Day which Allah has exalted, on which Allah will make the decision between the first and the last according to their deeds.
