And His word: ( كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ) "eat and drink with relish, on account of what you used to do." The Exalted, whose mention is lofty, says: it is said to them: eat, O assembly, of these fruits, and drink of these springs, whenever you desire them, with relish. He says: there is for you no befoulment and no spoilage in what you eat and drink, but it is for you everlasting, it does not perish, and it is pleasant and brings you no harm in your bodies.
And His word: ( بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ) "on account of what you used to do." He, exalted is His praise, says: it is said to them: this is a reward on account of what you used to do in the worldly life of obedience to Allah, and the effort that you exerted in that which brought you nearer to Him.
