And His statement: fa-mā lahum ʿani al-tadhkirati muʿriḍīn ("What, then, is the matter with them that they turn away from the reminder?"). He says: what is the matter with these polytheists (mushrikīn) that they turn away from Allah's reminder to them by means of this Qurʾān, that they do not listen to it so as to take a lesson from it and be warned?
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
* Mention of who said that:
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: fa-mā lahum ʿani al-tadhkirati muʿriḍīn , that is to say: from this Qurʾān.
