وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَآ أَسْفَرَ

And [by] the morning when it brightens,

    His statement: وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ (And by the morning when it brightens). The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: and by the morning when it gives light.

    As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ (And by the morning when it brightens): when it gives light and breaks.

    وقوله: ( وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ ) يقول تعالى ذكره: والصبح إذا أضاء. كما حدثنا بشر، قال: ثنا يزيد، قال: ثنا سعيد، عن قتادة ( وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ ) إذا أضاء وأقبل.
