Tafseer of The Jinn · Al-Jinn · 72:24
[The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number.

His statement: ḥattā idhā raʾaw mā yūʿadūna ("Until they see what they have been promised"). The Exalted, whose praise is mentioned, says: when they behold with their own eyes the chastisement (ʿadhāb) which their Lord has promised them and the arrival of the Hour, fa-sayaʿlamūna man aḍʿafu nāṣiran wa-aqallu ʿadadan ("then they will know who is weaker in helper and fewer in number") — is it the host of Allah, to whom they ascribed partners, or are those the polytheists who ascribed partners to Him.
