Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

And His word thumma innī aʿlantu lahum wa-asrartu lahum isrārā (Then I spoke to them openly and I spoke to them in secret). He says: I called out to them and shouted aloud at them with that which You commanded me concerning the warning.
As Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, both on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning His word aʿlantu lahum (I spoke to them openly): he said: I shouted.
Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Mihrān related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning aʿlantu lahum (I spoke to them openly): he says: I shouted at them.
And His word wa-asrartu lahum isrārā (and I spoke to them in secret). He says: and I confided that to them secretly, between me and them, in private.
And in accordance with what we have said about this, the exegetes have spoken.
