He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.

Explanation of the meaning of His word, the Exalted: qāla rabbi innī daʿawtu qawmī laylan wa-nahārā (He said: my Lord, verily I have called my people night and day).
The Exalted says in mention: Nūḥ (Noah) said, when he had conveyed to his people the message of his Lord and had warned them of that with which He had commanded him to warn them, and they disobeyed him and rejected that which he had brought them from Him: rabbi innī daʿawtu qawmī laylan wa-nahārā (my Lord, verily I have called my people night and day) to the acknowledgment of Your oneness and to Your worship, and I have warned them of Your power and Your might,
