[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me.

His word: ( that you worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me ) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says, reporting what Nūḥ said to his people: ( verily, I am to you a clear warner ) so that you may worship Allah; he says: verily, I am to you a warner, I warn you and I command you to worship Allah, ( and fear Him ) — he says: and fear His punishment by believing in Him and acting in obedience to Him, ( and obey me ) — he says: and hold fast to what I command you, and accept my counsel to you.
And Bishr has already related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word: ( that you worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me ) he said: Allah sent the messengers so that Allah alone would be worshipped, so that one would guard against His prohibitions, and so that His command would be obeyed.
