إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا

    The statement concerning the explanation of His word, the Exalted: إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا (6) ("Verily, they see it as far off (6)")

    He, exalted be His mention, says: verily, these polytheists (mushrikīn) see the punishment which they asked for, that will fall upon them, as far off in its occurrence. And He, exalted be His praise, informed only that they see that as far off because they did not hold it to be true and denied the resurrection after death, as well as the reward and the punishment.

    القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا (6) يقول تعالى ذكره: إن هؤلاء المشركين يرون العذاب الذي سألوا عنه، الواقع عليهم، بعيدا وقوعه، وإنما أخبر جلّ ثناؤه أنهم يرون ذلك بعيدا، لأنهم كانوا لا يصدّقون به، وينكرون البعث بعد الممات، والثواب والعقاب
