He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."

Explanation of the words of Allah: قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ (25) ("He said: Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought forth").
Abū Jaʿfar said: He, exalted is His mention, says: Allah said to those whom He had sent down from His heavens to His earth: (fīhā taḥyawna), He says: upon the earth you shall live, He says: you shall dwell upon it during the days of your lives = (wa-fīhā tamūtūna), He says: upon the earth your death shall take place = (wa-minhā tukhrajūna), He says: and from the earth your Lord shall bring you forth and gather you to Himself for the resurrection of the Day of Resurrection, alive.
