His saying: "On that Day you will be brought forth; nothing of you remains hidden" (69:18). The Exalted One, whose praise is exalted, says: on that Day, O people, you will be brought before your Lord. And it has been said: you will be brought forth in three presentations.
* Mention of who said that:
al-Ḥasan ibn Qazaʿa al-Bāhilī related to us, saying: Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāḥ related to us, saying: ʿAlī ibn ʿAlī al-Rifāʿī related to us, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, on the authority of Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, who said: "The people are brought forth in three presentations. As for the two presentations: they are dispute and excuses. And as for the third: at that moment the pages fly into the hands; one seizes it with his right hand and another seizes it with his left hand."
Mujāhid ibn Mūsā related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Sulaymān ibn Ḥayyān related to us, on the authority of Marwān al-Aṣghar, on the authority of Abū Wāʾil, on the authority of ʿAbdallāh, who said: "The people are brought forth on the Day of Resurrection in three presentations: two presentations are excuses and disputes, and at the third presentation the pages fly into the hands."
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning his saying: "On that Day you will be brought forth; nothing of you remains hidden" — it has been related to us that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to say: "The people are brought forth on the Day of Resurrection in three presentations. As for the two presentations: in them are disputes, excuses, and contention. And as for the third presentation: at it the pages fly into the hands."
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, something similar.
His saying: "Nothing of you remains hidden" — He, whose praise is exalted, says: from Allah nothing of you remains hidden, for He is all-knowing of all of you, all-encompassing of all of you.
