Tabari

Tafseer of The Pen · Al-Qalam · 68:39

Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?

And His saying: أَمْ لَكُمْ ("Or have you") — therein — أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ("oaths binding upon Us reaching until the Day of Resurrection?"). He says: do you have oaths from Us that reach with you until the Day of Resurrection, that you shall have whatever you decide — that is to say: that you shall have your own judgment? But the alif of "inna" was read with a kasra ("anna") because the lām entered into the predicate; that is to say: do you have oaths from Us that you shall have your own judgment?
