He, exalted be His mention, says: and if you spend in the way of Allah, and perform the gift therein in a beautiful manner, and with your expenditure hope for the recompense and the reward, then your Lord will multiply that for you, so that He makes for you in place of the one a sevenfold hundred, up to more than that of the multiplication that He wills. يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ("He will forgive you your sins"). He refrains, for your sake, from your punishment for them, in addition to His multiplication of your expenditure which you spend in His way. وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ ("and Allah is Appreciative"). He says: and Allah is full of appreciation toward those who spend in His way, through the beautiful requital for them for what they have spent in this world in His way. حَلِيمٌ ("Forbearing"). He says: forbearing toward the people of acts of disobedience against Him, through forgoing to strike them hastily with His punishment.
