And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

Allah, exalted is His mention, says: and remember also, O Muḥammad, وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ("when ʿĪsā, the son of Maryam, said") to his people from the children of Israel: يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ ("O children of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allah to you, confirming what is before me of the Torah") that was sent down upon Mūsā, وَمُبَشِّرًا ("and as a bringer of glad tidings") — I bring you the glad tidings — بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ ("of a Messenger who comes after me, whose name is Aḥmad").
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Muʿāwiya ibn Ṣāliḥ informed me, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Suwayd, on the authority of ʿAbd al-Aʿlā ibn Hilāl al-Sulamī, on the authority of ʿIrbāḍ ibn Sāriya, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, Allah's blessing and peace be upon him, say: "Indeed, by Allah, I was inscribed as the Seal of the Prophets, while Ādam was still laid out in his clay. And I will tell you the beginning of that: it is the supplication of my father Ibrāhīm, and the glad tidings of ʿĪsā about me, and the dream that my mother saw — and thus the mothers of the prophets see dreams — she saw that at the time when she gave birth to me she saw that a light came forth from her by which the palaces of al-Shām were illuminated." فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ("But when he came to them with the clear proofs") means: when Aḥmad came to them with the clear proofs — these are the indications that Allah gave him as evidentiary grounds for his prophethood — قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ ("they said: This is clear sorcery") means: that which he has brought is nothing other than that he is a sorcerer.
