The explanation of His word: لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلامِ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (127) ("For them is the House of Peace with their Lord, and He is their Protector (walī), because of what they used to do." (6:127))

Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, means by His word "for them" the people who remember the signs of Allah and take heed from them, and who believe with certainty in that to which those signs point regarding the oneness of Allah (tawḥīd), the prophethood of His prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ), and other matters, and who hold to be true that to which they have come to knowledge by means of those signs.

And as for "the House of Peace" (dār al-salām): that is the House of Allah which He has prepared for those under His protection in the Hereafter, as a reward for them for what they endured in the worldly life for the sake of Allah, and that is His paradise (janna). And "al-Salām" (the Peace) is one of the names of Allah, the Exalted, as al-Suddī said:

13884 — Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn related to me, saying: Aḥmad ibn Mufaḍḍal related to us, saying: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī: ("For them is the House of Peace with their Lord"), Allah is the Peace (al-Salām), and the House is the paradise (janna).

And as for His word: ("and He is their Protector"), He says: and Allah is the Helper of these people who remember the signs of Allah — ("because of what they used to do"), that is to say: as a reward for what they used to do of obedience to Allah, while they seek His good pleasure.
