And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

The exposition of the interpretation of His statement, the Exalted: وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ("And they used to say: 'When we have died and have become dust and bones, shall we then truly be resurrected?'") (47)
The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: and they used to say, out of their unbelief (kufr) concerning the resurrection and out of denial of Allah's reviving of His creatures after their death: When we have become dust in our graves after our death, and decayed bones, shall we then truly be raised up alive from that, just as we were before death?
